Shift differential income is calculated by your payroll process based on the set up of income controls that direct the system. The income records that create the shift differential are entered during time entry. At time entry the user has the option to override the employee’s home levels and job code for regular hours worked.

However, the shift differential pay that is created by the payroll process is charged to the employee’s home levels, rather than the worked levels responsible for the shift pay.

This module was created for employers who wish to have their payroll system calculate shift differential pay, but who wish to distribute shift differential pay to employee’s worked levels. The allocation of shift differential pay is performed by this module after the ‘Post & Print’ process has completed. The allocation program is attached as an ‘after’ exit program to the ‘Post & Print’ process.
